QRIA conducts research for social change by combining research and action and creating environments to counter social injustice and improve the quality of life for people living in the margins of society. The group focuses on the methodological development of human rights-based, art-based, transdisciplinary community-based, relational, collaborative, visual-narrative and ethnographic research in different countries, such as Belgium, Bolivia, Colombia, Palestine, and Syria. The aim is to conduct research that contributes to the enhancement of the wellbeing of children, adolescents and families living in situations at social risk due to war (child soldiers, war-affected children, refugee children) and/or poverty, migration and social exclusion.
