Victoria Lugo
Biography
VICTORIA LUGO is a psychologist, with a Masters degree in Public Health, and a PhD in Social Sciences (Tilburg University). She is currently on faculty at the Universidad de Caldas in Manizales, Colombia and the director of the Master program in Social Justice and Peace Building. Her research interests focus on social constructionist ideas applied to conflict transformations and restoration with survivors from armed conflict. From 2018-2019, she was the national director of the study "Creating political abilities for transitions in local territories”, a participatory action research project located in six municipalities affected by armed conflict in Colombia.
From 2021-2022 was co-researcher on the project “Listening and narration: the fight of the victims in Colombia for their recognition and emotional recovery”. Currently, she is Principal investigator in Colombia on the project “Voices of recovery: recognizing intersecting risks, capacities and pandemic recovery needs in marginalized communities of Latin America (Colombia, Brazil and Peru). The project is jointly led by Universidad de Caldas (Colombia), National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters (CEMADEN, Brazil), Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP, Peru), and University of East Anglia (UEA, UK).
