The publication "State of Hybrid Work in Belgium, 2024" (available here) was prepared as a part of the project SUSHY: Towards sustainable hybrid work: the study of hybrid work effects on well-being, productivity and environment. The project is funded by BELSPO and the BRISPO team is represented by Christophe Vanroelen, Karen van Aerden and Jens Doms. The SUSHY project is unique due to its combination of disciplines and expertise (engineering, architecture, sociology, IT, management), the involvement of teams from three Belgian universities (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Université de Namur, UCLouvain - Université Catholique de Louvain), and the accumulated knowledge it brings together.
In short, the goal is to assess the challenges of hybrid work in terms of energy consumption, well-being, and organizational performance. From a research design perspective, we combine case studies, a personalized support approach (self-administered inventories), and large-scale surveys—all conducted over a four-year period.
You can join the second wave of the survey, which has just been launched and is available here.
