The Faculty of Social Sciences & Solvay Business School at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel seeks applicants for a full-time PhD position in the 'Segregation through Life and Space' (SeLiS) project, funded by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and conducted at the Department of Sociology. Led by dr. Lena Imeraj, SeLiS aims to investigate individual trajectories of segregation within ethnic minority communities in Belgium. Integrating theories of life course and intersectionality with a spatial context focus, the project employs a mixed-methods approach to deepen our understanding of ethnic segregation.
The successful candidate will contribute to constructing and understanding life course trajectories of segregation in Belgian cities as part of this 4-year research initiative. We are seeking candidates with a master's degree in anthropology, sociology, social sciences, human, social, or cultural geography, or related fields, who are passionate about understanding residential segregation and related issues.
Deadline for applications: 30/04/2024.
