The 2024 edition of the BRISPO lecture series: Rémy Bonny (Forbidden Colours non-profit association, Belgium), Scapegoating the LGBTQI+ community in international anti-democratic movements [lecture is organised in collaboration with WE.Konnekt, will not take place on the VUB campus, the exact location will be announced later]
Rémy Bonny is the director of Forbidden Colours. He is an expert on how ultraconservative and antidemocratic regimes use their fight against human rights for the LGBTIQ+ communities in their international relations. He investigated and exposed various anti-LGBTIQ+ initiatives of Russia, Hungary, and other antidemocratic governments. In 2021, Bonny was the first international activist to uncover the news about the Hungarian anti-LGBTIQ+ law - a copy of the Russian anti-LGBTIQ+ propaganda law from 2013. Later, Forbidden Colours' work against this law led to the largest lawsuit in the history of the EU.
Participation is free, but registration via this form is mandatory. Please register at least two days before the lecture. After processing your registration, we will send you the URL to participate in the online webinars or provide you with the venue details.
