Gruia Bădescu is a Research Fellow in History and Sociology at the Zukunftskolleg, University of Konstanz. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and, before Konstanz, he was a lecturer and research associate at the University of Oxford. Since 2020, he leads a research group on cities after political ruptures at the Zukunftskolleg. He has published on urban post-war reconstruction, refugees, practices of coexistence and dealing with the past in Southeastern Europe, often in dialogue with other regions, specifically the Southern Cone of Latin America and the Middle East.
