Whereas significant research has been conducted on the impact of discrimination on various aspects of life, such as health, housing, and access to the labour market, little is known about its costs to individuals, organizations, and societies. Therefore, the OECD funded Bert Leysen and Pieter-Paul Verhaeghe from BRISPO and Valentina Di Stasio from Utrecht University to examine the costs of discrimination through a systematic literature review. With a strong emphasis on methods and quantitative outcomes, this project aims to identify key studies and authors to explore new avenues and opportunities for future research. Although primarily focused on discrimination faced by different migrant and ethno-national groups, all grounds of discrimination are considered to inform new and cumulative pathways through which this pervasive phenomenon impacts all of us financially.
