István László Gyimes
Biography
I hold a PhD in Neuropsychology from the University of Essex, United Kingdom, which I completed in 2022, building on my MSc in Psychology from the same institution (2016-2017). Before that, I earned a BSc in Biology from the University of Szeged, Hungary (2013-2016). My main areas of interest are neural and behavioural data analysis, statistical modelling, data access management, sensitive data management, and digital archiving of data.
I am passionate about building new digital infrastructure that supports researchers while protecting the security of personal data. I worked at the UK Data Service on their SecureLab service, and later when moved to Belgium, I started to work on the DAMAR project aiming to develop a similar trusted research environment and framework for the SODHA platform at the State Archives of Belgium together with VUB. My main interests are coding, statistics, neural data processing, and the development of modern frameworks for accessing sensitive data.
