Harnessing the body. A sociological exploration of somatic cultures

Objective

Research on the links between sports, nutrition and body care in different social groups and the formation of their body. Extra focus lies on the way the body is used in processes of social differentiation and the contribution on naturalisation, and therefore legitimation of social inequalities. We hope to prove that not only our body forms our view on the world, but also that the view of the world defines the view on our body.
