It’s a wrap. We are proud to announce that the Special Issue on comparing and explaining ethnic and racial discrimination across different regions and settings is out now. In this issue, Prof. Pieter-Paul Verhaeghe (BRISPO), Prof. Valentina Di Stasio (Utrecht University) and Mariña Fernández Reino (University of Oxford) aimed to facilitate the dialogue between the different research traditions of studying discrimination.
The featured research in this issue spans various settings – including housing, labour markets, education, healthcare, and law enforcement – and regions such as Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Sweden, the U.S., and Europe at large. Most studies reveal persistent discrimination across these domains, underscoring the ongoing need for inclusive and nuanced approaches to address and mitigate discrimination.
In the editorial, we advocate for more interdisciplinary dialogue, emphasizing that a comprehensive understanding of discrimination requires integrating diverse methodologies and perspectives. Read our editorial ideas in full open access here.
