Throughout their life course, more and more individuals experience subsequent family transitions, such as entry into unmarried cohabitation or marriage, divorce or separation and re-partnering. Some families are formed, disrupted and reconstituted even more than once. As a consequence, families are more complex today than they have ever been in history. However, research on how society can reduce the vulnerabilities of individuals in family transitions is rather scarce. Therefore, the FiTTiF project will investigate which innovative interventions can reduce vulnerabilities regarding changing family circumstances due to family transitions. The project aims to develop innovative social actions targeted at three social institutions: justice, economy and education. The FiTTiF project is a collaboration between the University of Antwerp, KU Leuven, Ghent University, and the Vrije Universiteit Brussels.
