Elias Kruithof
Biography
I am Elias Kruithof, a PhD student working on intergenerational social class mobility at BRISPO and Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). My research focus encompasses a wide range of topics, including the investigation of long-term trends in educational inequalities, exploration of social class mobility from a European perspective with a focus on ethnic differences, and the measurement of social class inequalities. In this pursuit, I employ statistical methodologies, primarily relying on generalized linear models and multilevel models in R, and I also possess some proficiency in Python. I have a keen appreciation for the nuances of data descriptions and a passion for crafting strong visuals that illuminate time trends and geographical differences in equality of opportunity. My goal is to decipher and measure the evolving landscape of intergenerational persistence in social privileges.
My academic journey led me through degrees in law, sociology, and social science education at the universities of Leuven and Brussels (VUB).
