David De Coninck
Biography
I am David De Coninck, FWO junior postdoc fellow affiliated with KU Leuven and VUB. I obtained a BSc and MSc in Sociology from the University of Antwerp, and a PhD in Social Sciences from KU Leuven. My research interests focus on intergroup relations, with a particular interest in media effects on attitudes towards migrants, migrant deservingness, and (perceived) discrimination. Additionally, I have a broad interest in other topics of sociology and communication sciences like the societal outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic, adolescent development, digital literacy of youths, and issues of confidentiality in adolescent health care. I also serve as Assistant Editor at International Journal of Intercultural Relations. When I'm not working, I can very often be found watching movies or tv shows, gaming, or spending quality time with my wife and newborn son!
