Edith Walravens
Biography
I obtained my master’s degree in Sociology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2025 and am currently a PhD researcher funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO). My doctoral project, “A Seat for Every Class? The Representation of Class-Based Work Logic in European Democracies”, examines how occupational classes are represented in national parliaments across Europe. By integrating insights from the sociology of social class and theories of political representation, my research seeks to advance understanding of how class structures shape patterns of democratic representation.
