Our colleague Marloes Hagenaars is one of the eight finalists of the Flemish PhD Cup 2025 – and now the public can vote for their favourite presentation!
You can watch the finalists’ short video presentations and cast your vote for the Audience Award here. Please note that the videos and information are available in Dutch.
The final will take place on 21 October 2025 in Ghent and can also be followed live via livestream at phdcup.be.
Marloes earned her PhD in Sociology at Ghent University with a dissertation on how teachers handle ethnic diversity in the classroom. Her research shows that even small, everyday choices made by teachers can have a significant impact on whether students feel included or excluded at school. To support teachers, she developed RE:flex, a free and practical tool that helps them reflect on their own behaviour towards ethnic diversity. At BRISPO, she continues her work on inclusion in education as a postdoctoral researcher and valorisation coordinator of the Primary Prejudice project.
