About the project
The Support Center for Testing in Education, or in full, the Support Center "Development of standardized, norm-referenced, and validated cross-network and umbrella assessments in Flanders," is tasked with developing and implementing the Flemish assessments that will be introduced from the academic year 2014-2015. To achieve this, experts from the five Flemish universities, the AP University College, and the Artevelde University College pool their knowledge for a period of five years.
Researchers from the VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) are involved in three working domains:
1. Development of mathematics assessments.
The Department of Mathematics and Data Science coordinates the mathematics domain and develops assessments for secondary education.
2. Processing and analysis of assessment results.
The Departments of Political Science and Sociology coordinate the data processing and analysis domain.
3. User feedback on the results.
The Department of Educational Sciences is involved in user research.
