BRISPO sociologist Deborah De Moortel has published an opinion piece (in Dutch) in "knack": “Ziekte en dood zijn universeel menselijke ervaringen, ook tijdens de professionele loopbaan”.
The article examines how illness, loss, and caregiving inevitably intersect with professional life. It calls for “compassionate workplaces” that recognise these experiences and support employees through them, while also reflecting on the shortcomings of recent Belgian pension reforms.
