I am a research intern for the unit Childhood, Culture and Cognition at the Department of Sociology at the VUB. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a master’s degree in Communication Studies. As an aspiring doctoral candidate, my primary interest lies in the sociology of taste, with a focus on the mechanisms of its acquisition. In particular, I seek to understand how children acquire taste within maternal constraints and how social class shapes the ways they navigate, reinterpret or resist mothers’ transmission of lifestyle dispositions. Currently, I am contributing as an intern to the FWO-SBO research project ‘Primary Prejudice’, gaining relevant experience for my future research endeavours.
