Elise Imbornone

Elise Imbornone is a PhD researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where she is currently working on the Helios Project. This research focuses on workplace interventions aimed at addressing burnout, depression, and the broader well-being of employees. 
Elise completed her Master's degree in Sociology at the VUB in 2025, with a thesis examining algorithmic management and platform-based food delivery couriers in Brussels. This work explored how algorithmic systems shape the couriers experience within the gig economy in an urban context.
Prior to this, Elise obtained her Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences in 2024, completed across UGent and the VUB.
